Patients on hospice are already facing end of life, and now Covid-19 is a new threat to contend with. This puts more distance between the patient and their families, with fear and isolation both increasing at the end of life. Staff struggle to balance protecting the patient while also giving families access to their loved ones.

Connection Pointe member and Life’s Journey Hospice nurse, Connie Crum, calls it a heart dilemma. Staff are heartbroken when they are the only ones there when a person dies. They feel the impact of grief and loss even more when the family isn’t there.  Your gifts reminded these amazing staff members they are not forgotten and we are so thankful for the amazing care they are providing hospice patients and families.
